We invite you to join us this June (5th – 8th) for a four day workshop deep in the heart of Norway. Under the eternal summer sun we will gather to learn, create and find inspiration in these points north. Together, Olivia Rubie, Linda Lomelino and Krissy O’Shea will host a food, photography and styling workshop. We will have the uniquely beautiful opportunity to delve into all of these topics at the stunning Melgården, the beautiful 17th century house and gardens that will be our backdrop for these days of the workshop. Set among moss clad forests, picturesque valleys and stunning gardens it is truly an inspiration to behold.
On the first evening there will be a chance to explore Melgården and its exquisite gardens, hear more about its restoration story and tour the property with owner and our hostess Live Huse Mykleby. We will welcome you to Norway with an elegant eight course meal prepared by Oliva Rubie celebrating all the tastes of the season and an introduction to some of the flavors of the local region before retiring to our lovely little woodland hotel.
Our days will be spent exploring the creative process - delving into creating, shooting and styling images and stories while guided by Krissy, Linda and Oliva. We will look at the use of natural light in our photography, scene creation and prop selection. There will be an intensive Lightroom Tutorial with guest teacher Kati Boden to help you better understand this powerful editing tool and unlock its potential in helping you craft the look and feel of your photographs you desire. We will also discuss finding your individual voice and style and help you explore some of this process over the course of our days together. In pursuit of aim, there will be a series of short insive classes where you will have the chance to work intimately with the instructors in small groups. And each participant will have an opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with Linda, Olivia and Krissy at the close of the workshop.
To accompany and build upon the days creative explorations at meals we will focus on the simple joys of gathering and the camaraderie of conversation. Gathered round the table, both indoors and out for our three lunches, three dinners, and breakfasts there will be a time to reflect, relax, engage in creative discussion and ask questions about everything from social media to pitching freelance work. Our gathering at the table will be a chance for conversations of personal journey and professional development and there will be an opportunity for further discussions of topics covered during the day.
